I think this is a GREAT idea!

The only question is whether we can legally web publish these documents. Although they should be public domain, sometimes they are controlled by some entity. A good example is the DMIS spec - it is an ANSI standard, but CAM-I holds a copyright and seems to be against free distribution at this point.

If anyone can dig up information on specific standards and post info in this Misc area for now, hopefully we can open a Standards conference or at least link to HTML versions of these standards.
