Thanks for the replies. It seems from your responses that performing the calibration is not so difficult but the gages are an issue. Because we have CMMs that ranges from 40x32x24 to 256x150x136 we would need three step gages of different sizes. Given this and the fact that two out of two Leitz machines that came up for calibration this month had to be remapped completely, justifying the gages becomes more difficult.
