Dennis, if you are looking for subject matter on the way you inspect a part applied to Y14.5.1M-1994. ASME also has a book called Mathematical Definition of Dimensioning and Tolerancing Priciples. It gets right into the math behind the callouts.
Not for the timid though, it's all direction and position vectors and the formulas behind said vectoring and the validity conditions. Not exactly straightforward stuff unless you aced geometry and algebra.
