Mark - I agree with Andrew. Why not use both? At least for the time being? Both produce DMIS code, although I'm sure that V-DMIS probably has some proprietary commands that Silma doesn't (unless they've entered into some kind of mutual support agreement [unlikely]). If you're going to be using the V-DMIS on-line to run the CMM, then you have everything to gain by using Silma off-line at the same time. I only WISH I had your problem. All kidding aside, sounds like you're all set with a toolbox filled with goodies. Gee - the only thing one could hope for next would be PC-DMIS, I guess (if you're running B&S/DEA machines). Our company is currently investigating the Silma s/w and I hope to purchase it in the very near future and perhaps PC-DMIS down the road. By the way... I certainly wish you luck and hope to hear some down-to-earth comparisons between the two in the future.
