Ray,

Cones and cylinders have been giving us fits in LK DMIS we have intermittent problems with each. What I was thinking about doing is write a sub program using trig. to measure a cylinder with no probe comp. then comp the probe after you know the cone angle. Then it is simple to figure gage depth or gage dia. which ever you need. This is what I did in FLB. The trouble is then getting these measurements into a form that DMIS will understand. Maybe comping each individual point and re constructing the cone in DMIS? The easiest way to measure a cone is by measuring two circles at different depths and constructing a cone but LK DMIS does not probe compensate on any constructions, ever keep this in mind nor will they report form on some constructions (intersections as apposed to best fit point data)
