Hello Mark,
This is a common problem for companies who want their new CMM to run at 100% from day one.
Speaking as a LEITZ-factory QUINDOS Applications engineer, you need to do a week of QUINDOS basic training and then get straight on with the job of trying to measure your own parts. The longer you wait after the training, the more difficult it will be when you eventually get on the machine. Depending on your parts, you definitely need at least one week of advanced training, to cover specific problems that you have encountered. Like Bruno, I can certainly recommend Ed Reese.
I would also recommend that you do the training on your own machine, as an experienced applications engineer will be able to help you 'get to know' your machine, and maybe even find any defects which you can get repaired under warranty !
Finally, There is an 'official' QUINDOS hotline, manned by former LEITZ-employees, for any software/metrology problems you may have. It is a standard-rate, free service. From America, you must call 011 49 6441 2109 222. However, It is not a substitute for training, that's Ed's job !
You're welcome to contact me if you have any questions/problems, otherwise, welcome to the club !
