The XactQuindos software from Brown & Sharpe Germany has probably the most advanced gear package on the market. XactQuindos also provides an extensive package for gear tools, such as hobs, broaches, shaving and shaping cutters as well as a link to GLEASONS SUPER-GAGE package.

But before you consider any software upgrade, you should check if your CMM is actually capable of inspecting your gears.

The attached chart indicates the CMM's R spec required (R is the form error of the CMM according to ISO 10 360-2) depending on the gear quality you want to measure.
