I have the understanding that you are using Sheffnet w/ Digital's VMS 5.0 or higher.
If so... go into VMS "System" account...

At the $ prompt type...
Init "device name": "label name"
At the $ prompt type
Backup/log
when ask "From" type...
type the name of device:
type the name of [directory.Root]
type the name of file w/ .ofi
when ask "To" type
type the name of floopy device:
type the name of the label:
type "/Save_set"

example:
$ Init mka500: backup
$ Mount/For mka500: backup
$ Backup/log dka300:[sheffnet.Programs] part.ofi mka500:backup/save_set/label=backup

This will save any file in VMS to a device called mka500:. You will need to know your Vax specific device names (Dka300:,Mka500, etc...use "$ SHOW DEVICE" to find them).

I hope this helped you,
