We have been using TP-200 touch probes with standard force modules for about five years now. Since the implementation, we have had 7 module and 23 touch probes replaced. Occasionally we would have a situation where a collision would cause the need replacement, but lately we have noticed a problem where our probe qualifications would not be within the .010mm requirement for roundness. After several attempts to qualify the position, we changed to a TP-2 (or a new TP-200) and the calibration routine will go through without a problem.

Included with this post is a zip file with TP-2 & TP-200 DMIS routines that I created to look at the probe repeatability. The TP-200 the results are worse than a TP-2. Has anyone else had these types of problems?

If you are willing to run these programs please e-mail or post a reply with your results. Thanks!
