Recently, Geoff Parmenter posted an announcement of “DIS Inspect” developed by Dimensional Inspection Software, Inc. (DIS) which provides an alternative method of generating Layout & SPC reports. The following is provided to amplify Geoff’s enthusiasm.

DIS Inspect is the perfect tool to compliment your existing Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and Optical Measuring Machine, as well as Manual Measurement Tools (i.e., Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gages, etc.). Regardless of the manufacturer of your measuring machine or Geometry Software, DIS Inspect has the ability to interface with ALL Geometry Software Programs that provide measurement results. Although most Geometry Software programs provide various levels of Reporting Capabilities, few offer the capability to consolidate measurement data regardless of the equipment used and report in a multi-piece format conducive to the review process.

Through the DIS Inspect Upload Wizard, result files are imported into DIS Inspect that eliminates having to manually enter data into a spreadsheet or transcribing data to a pre-printed form. OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE/EFFICIENCY of equipment, software, and labor time is realized while enjoying the power of DIS Inspect and the benefits of the reports generated. What might take hours or days in transcribing data to a pre-printed form or spreadsheet is done in less than ONE MINUTE!

The Report Writer Module was designed to eliminate the necessity of having to build a report for every layout. Reporting is as easy as selecting a Job(s), selecting the desired report(s), and click the Print button. This Module provides a combination of Detail and Summary reports (currently 18).
