I know this has been discussed and cussed at but most of the replies have been deleted and I would like to hear feedback on profile reporting again.
I have always reported profile in the following format. If my profile tolerance is 1.0mm for a bilateral call out and my actual measurement is 0.6mm from nominal, I report it as 1.2mm.
This was presented to me differently as an explanation which makes a little sense but is not what I have been taught. If my tolerance is 1.0mm and my actual from nominal is 0.6mm then my reporting should be 1.1mm for the profile. Since the actual is only 0.1 out of the tolerance zone, the reporting should be 0.1 over the high limit = 1.1mm
Comments please....
