You can purchase an option in PC-DMIS to have it reads DXF format file. If you want it be able to read curves & surface make sure you purchase that option too. I don't know how good DXF translator does. I have been using IGES and ASCII post in, so far it is working good. By the way, I believe that DMIS are for who have many CMM and using that as standard language (like those CNC guys.) However, there are always limitation for each language.
