I've been using IMS's Virtual-DMIS for about 18 months now and have been very happy with the software. Our old machine is a Merlin running Accudat, which was OK at the time and we always had good service. When we looked into a new machine we wanted something with a Renishaw probe system because of its low force and so checked out B & S, Mitutoyo, Mahr & IMS (These being the most available here). The machine were all pretty good quality and so the tests we got the manufactures to perform on the parts we brought with us were more of a test of the software. This meant that only IMS & B&S seemed to give good value in this way, we had a few problems with the B&S software on the day not being able to pick up a very small cylinder in a tight space (Assembly). Though this I'm sure was possible the IMS software did just seem more intuitive. It's not perfect but we do have an update & meeting every 6 months and they have adding in a lot of improvement given by customers. Most notability a download to excel, which makes me look good giving my results to the engineers I work with.
