Why is it DMIS will only let me define a feature one time? This makes no sense to me. Consider an iterative alignment. It creates a lot of clutter when you have to rename the features every time. Someone call the committee and have this changed... I'll expect confirmation on this sometime soon :)
I just finished my LK-DMIS training and I'm about to embark on a long mission of DMIS code development. I'm sure I'll have plenty of things that I don't like about the 'almost' DMIS standard. Does anyone know if DMIS committee members frequent this forum? If so (or if not) what is the best way of getting the committee to listen to the concerns of the people that have to live by there decisions?
Also, A suggestion to all you CMM software developers that use DMIS as your native programming language: If you have a command that is not in the DMIS spec, you should put it behind the standard comment ($$) marker so that other DMIS environments will read it without generating an error.
