i am using gage 2000 manual machine with tutor for windows software.

i want to measure one uneven profile, for that i took 35 points on that profile by using MIP PROBE in Y - axis lock condition and i preset the starting point as
(X,Y,Z = 0). i found the reading in Y axis more variation 2mm to 8 mm, even though i locked Y - axis.

next i measured the same 35 points by using
HARDPROBE in the same Y-axis lock condition,
all my Y-axis reading found zero(0).
why these variation?
