My company is in the market for a motorized cmm with touch probe and laser/scan (RENISHAW).
We inspect plastic, SS, cloth, NITI wire rings and our sample size is S3 or S4.
We currently use a manual RAM optical, motorized smartscope, optical comparator and usual hand tools.
We do not use GD&T, but are heading in that direction. Reverse engineering of parts would be added bonus.
Our parts are small, usually less then 1 cubic inch.
Our goal is to reduce inspection times (fast turnaround to production, cost savings), reduce operator error(gage R&R)
I have operated a Starrett, Mitutoyo and DEA and prefer DEA with Tutor.
(has DEA improved its replacement part system ie, leadtimes)any suggestion would be appreciated
