Leonard,
You should relook at Mitutoyo. We offer the SP600 scanning head and a QVP non-contact system. These systems can be used seperately or through a change rack system. Together with a touch probe they would give you the optimum selection of probes available.
When working with small parts having a true CNC machine is imperative. Do not confuse DCC with CNC they are not interchangable. Other manufactures would have you believe that there is no difference but the true test comes in positional accuracy. Have the person doing the demo run the machine to the home position then pull up an active display showing the X,Y,Z locations and drive the machine in automatic mode, at 100% speed, to some location in the envelope of the machine; for example 10.00, 13.00, 5.00, round off the numbers making it easier to see. Put the decimal places out to 5 places. Have them put that in a loop and check the numbers. True CNC will beat DCC everytime.
If you want I can e-mail you some information about CNC versus DCC.
