I would prefer a CNC CMM over a DCC CMM any day for keying in where I to go and how I want to measure a feature. I am currently using a Zeiss Eclipse running on Calypso and USoft but have used Mitutoyo CMM's for 6 previous years before and I prefer CNC measuring over DCC as it gives me the ability to measure small diameters more effectively. With the Zeiss controller (C-99) I have to measure the smaller diameters manually because of the variation of our parts. With the Mitutoyo controller I can program a "go to" or "position point" and then measure by IJK or direction until probe contact allowing for more variation in the parts.
