Pete - I have the same need as you do; to generate point/feature maps (aka "roadmaps"). Unfortunately, the software I'm using doesn't allow me to print using a Windows printer driver. Bare with me, here. If PC-DMIS allows you to print to a Windows printer driver, then I would highly recommend using Adobe Acrobat. Acrobat includes software that installs a "printer driver" that will print to a file rather than a physical printer. There are many advantages to these types of files (*.pdf), but my favorites are:

1) They're viewable/printable on just about any platform using Adobe's FREE Acrobat Reader software (http://adobe.com).
2) The originator has the ability to password protect the created files so that printing or altering of the file is not possible without the password.

Currently, I'm copying a screen shot from Silma's CimStation Inspection to the Windows Clipboard, pasting into a Microsoft Word document and then using a freeware *.pdf creator inside Word. I don't recommend the freeware software - I've had problems with a few files and ended up using Adobe's software, afterall.

Please note that there is a definite difference between the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software and the creation software referred to as just plain Acrobat. Acrobat Reader cannot create *.pdf files.

HTH,
Shane
