Pete,

The software I use, Origin Checkmate, has its own report writing module. You can select a measured feature and insert virtually everything about the measurement into your CAD drawing. Balloon numbers, tolerance, SPC from data you feed back in, in color, on layers, much more. But since we did not opt for that part of the package what I do is simply draw lines from measured features away from the drawing. Then I add circles at the end of the lines for my balloon numbers. I use an isometric view most times and plot the new drawing on a color printer. Checkmate is everything CAD plus everything CMM programming. As an added touch, using Microsoft Word or Excel, I run these maps back through my printer for individual saved header info and insert the customer logo as well. No complaints yet, looks professional and you can't beat the cost. Only takes a few minutes.
