One question that I want ask you. When you are calculating profile using that equation, why do you use all three axis'? Profile should be toleranced only in one axis.

I think a lot of us will cheat a little and tolerance a point with the basic dimension +/- half of the profile specification. For non-circular features I create a coordinate system to where that feature should be, do my rotations, and then measure to a theoretical point. I then tolerance this as single axis true position (my software does not allow profile tolerancing of a single point).
