Sorry I didn't get into the foray yesterday. I blew off Friday after putting in 17 hours to finish a PPAP Thursday nite.

I will have to disagree with your GD&T "expert" about the FCF regarding the datum construction as the the standard clearly states on page 68 Fig. 4-21 that a datum axis created from 2 coaxial features must be RFS. Your drawing clearly shows in the FCF that they are using MMC bonus from the datums. This is not legal per the standard. Read paragraph 4.5.7.2, how can you use MMC from an AXIS? An axis has no SIZE to it.

The last line of my previous reply states how you are to define that "perfect axis" as stated in the standard. You are to use the high points of each feature (also in par. 4.5.7.2 and fig. 4-21).
