An older version of Faro's software called AnthroCam was better for CAD inspection. It actually ran in AutoCad and there was a lot of flexibility and power because of that, but they didn't want to add the cost of AutoCad to their price so they developed these other versions.
What is it that you are trying to do that is cumbersome?
PC dmis will run on the arm, but it, like Cam2, is only a graphic display of an IGES file and anytime you don't have the power of CAD, it's like having your hands tied behind your back.
I learned the Faro when it came out to the market, taught both AnthroCam and PC dmis on it and used it for about 8 years.
