Hello All,

just trying to get a feeling for how this forum will react to a new CMM product idea we are pursuing.

We have developed a fast and flexible, non-contact CMM with 1.0 um ( 0.001 mm 3 sigma)measurement accuracy and precision. Positional accuracy is 10 um ( 0.010 mm). Sorry, but I forgot my
inches after moving to Europe !

The point laser sensor tip has a small
diameter of 25mm, so one can measure inside
the part ! Measuring range is 3.000 to 9.000 mm from the tip and works for all materials and surfaces except trasparent or highly-reflective; tested on metals, ceramic, polymers.

We are planning to build these things with
standard industrial robotic components and
thus can offer a low-cost, individually sized
solution for XYZ or polar measurement geometry from extremely small to extremely
large parts, with no degradation of positional or measurement accuracy.

Does this sound like fun for anyone out there? What are software preferences ?

Thanks for any feedback you may have.
