I have a 50mm cube. It is sitting on the CMM baseplate relatively "square" to the baseplate surfaces. In the center of the left face of this cube is a 5mm bore that extends through the cube and exits in the center of the right side of the cube. This is datum feature (G). -- In the center of the top face of the cube is another 5mm bore, (R), that is intended to intersect with the (G)bore, thus forming a "T" junction inside the cube. --- What the engineer intended was for the axis of the (R)bore to be perpendicular to and intersect the axis of the (G)bore. To accomplish this, in a 2D drawing, looking at the cube from the top face, the (R) bore has this callout: [symmetry symbol] / 0.10 / G / --- Will this accomplish what he wants? What would be a proper GD&T callout to do that? If his callout is correct, how do I measure that on the CMM? --- If I look at the cube in a different 2D projection, looking at it from the front face, I have a callout of [position symbol] / Ø 0.1 / G / --- Will that do the job? I have my doubts about either callout being correct...
