Thanks for the tip. We have already realized that this is essential. Our system will be an embedded unit, with its own touch-panel
controller. However we will offer a DMIS remote interface for commanding equipment.

My problem with DMIS, is that it seems to be build on a traditional, single contact point, CMM philosophy. Our machine represents an evolution to a 3D laser scanner
disguised as a CMM. I guess I still have to see better how DMIS can handle this.
