A small correction to the previous statements about TP 2 and TP 200 probes. First, the lobbing of a TP 2 type of probe is not due to bending the Stylus, it is due to the "tripod" assembly mechanism of the probe body.
Second, the TP 200 does NOT use true strain gages as part of the operating mechanism of the probe, it uses strain gage technology which is similar but definitely not the same.
