If you need another solution to this you could try making a point at the datum position and then using the distance command to get a chordal length from the centre point to the measured point. A few things to consider are:

1 ... make the centre point by defining a nominal point at the centre and use the move point construction to define an actual point moved 0,0,0 from the nominal position.

2 ... consider the effect of using the point to point distance if your points are at different heights.

3 ... watch your probe approach when measuring points manually, bad hits will effect probe compensation thru cosine error.
