It depends on your situation. I have a star cluster setup that is used 24/5. We also use manual calibration (Our training did not include programmed calibrations...advanced class that company will not send us to). It takes 30 minutes to do a complete recalibration. My verification part takes 4 minutes to measure. 75% of our problems are dirt on the part or probe tips. Running the verification tool is a feel good thing for the operators and has saved us from poor calibrations attempts in the past. Assuming 25% percent need for recalibration you can see where we would save ourselves a lot of down time even if we only encountered problems once a day.
