We have a product here in UK called TETRONOM that may be more suitable for your needs.
This is a 3D artefact made from a carbon fibre composite that is thermally stable. The system is suitable for testing all sorts of "CMM" including traditional CMM plus Faro arms, laser trackers, photogrammetry, etc. The artefact can be easily calibrated by most certified labs.
The system also has software available for analysing measuring data, calculating accuracy in terms of linears, axes squareness, 3D volumetric, etc.
Typically, a complete test takes less than 5 minutes, so the system is suitable for regular machine checks. We have customers who use 1 system on a variety of CMM's, thereby reducing calibration costs - they only have the machine certified when the TETRONOM tests show up problems.
