At present, PC-DMIS cannot bring in text, dimensions, or anything else which is not part geometry, regardless of whether it's DXF, IGES, STEP (in ver 3.0), etc. The latest version of PC-DMIS has allowed me to bring in DXF through R14, but as you know I believe that you are better off going through IGES. Most companies I know who use ACAD also have MasterCAM and/or SMARTCAM. These companies bring in the DXF or DWG into these products which converts it to a 3D model. Of course the reason they do this is to create the cutter paths, but since the model is now true 3D, why not post out the IGES for PC-DMIS?
