There are a couple of quick tests that will roughly get you directed to where your measurement variation lies without going to a 5-2-2 or 10-3-3 full gage R&R that is practical. First run the part program with the part fixtured and untouched 5 times for a static test and look at the ranges. This is a very rough measure of repeatability. Next, run the same part 5 times while removing the part each time for a dynamic test to see what the range is. This is a very rough measure of reproducability that will lead you into variation of the alignment that may need iterated or set up on more robust datums. Again, these are quick and primary, and just something practical to get you going.
