I'm looking at the possibility of upgrading (retrofit / rebuild) a DEA IOTA 0102.
Can people relay their experiences (successful or otherwise) to do with upgrading an "old" manual CMM to a servo driven PC controller device.
* Was it a better option than buying new or secondhand?
* Was the cost reasonable?
* Will the CMM be serviceable in the future?
- Were retrofits made up by custom built parts or "off the shelf" components?
* Did the service provider provide good service?

Could the various OEMs suggest what I would need to do to consider the validity of an upgrade, and maybe indicative costs?
