Having 5 years with Romer and the past 3 years with a Far.I have experienced good and bad with both. Most of them being Software issues.Being what I would call a mobile Inspector that problem solves tooling and process issues have found Romer to be more flexible and easier to handle out on the floor. They are far easier to setup and tear down. And depending on the software probe qualification and measurement errors are far less with Romer.I,ve used both PC-DMIS and Cam2 with Faro, they both have trouble defining OD from ID's on hole, slots and cylinders.I love using PC-DMIS on our Xcel-DCC B&S.But found to much trouble on the Faro Arms and went to Cam2.
My problem is our Management has always been should on Faro and even though our biggest customer uses only Romer,I've been unable to influence our Management towards Romer.
