Very reluctantly, I have decided to disable the mailing list capability on this site.
The reason is that we have today been listed on the spamcop.net blacklist.
I am quite proud of our record in securing our servers to prevent abuse, and the only possible source of this problem seems to be the cmmworld.com mailing lists.
Spamcop's system is very aggressive and open to abuse. For example, the reason our site was listed is because, and I quote, "Since SpamCop started counting, this system has been reported about 10 times by less than 10 users". This could just be one person has reported us 10 times, or 10 people have reported us once, since the blacklist has been running (several years) - hardly Spam!!
I suspect one or more people, WHO OPTED to receive these mailings, and no longer wish to, rather than returning to the site to modify their profile(s), has forwarded the messages to the automated Spamcop system.
As LK's requirements for uninterrupted mail service exceed the convenience provided by the mailing lists, this decision will not be open for review.
My apologies for any inconvenience.
