You get what you pay for. Call your nearest Brown & Sharpe rep for calibration only. I know it may cost more but it is well worth it. If the machine has a compensation file, then we have a routine for modifying it to make it meet our specs. If another company calibrates your machine, they will probably only certify it to it's current spec. They have no means to modify it's comp file. If they do try to mechanically adjust it, they will probably screw up the comp table. I know because I have had to fix the problems caused by third party services. Besides that we are ISO certified. Ask any other calibration company if they are. Just my
advice.
