The 'burn out' problem seems to have been corrected. How, we are not sure. We had replaced the probe cabling before we had upgraded to the TP20's and then we had the probe circuit board checked by Mitutoyo CMM service. It appears that the TP20's with the standard (5-8 grams) of contact were the ones that were failing on our CMM. The TP20's with the 18 grams of trigger force seem to work just fine. So far, we have not had any problems with them in the last several weeks.

We are trying to work out changing the TP20's on the MCR20 rack. It just might be a learning curve problem or excessive vibration in the CMM when we try to change probes.

The PH9 is also working as well, but more experience I think is needed.
