We are going to start using a CMM in our shop that belongs to my father-in-law. It is a 1985 Cordax vertical arm CMM with an MP20 package. It was used to inspect one part one time only, so it is basically new. When the system is turned on,it will not track points if the touch probe(Renishaw TP1)is plugged in. The XYZ display just shows zeros, the LED on the probe does not light up and the AUX DATA light stays lit. When the cord is removed from the connector on the machine the MP works. My father-in-law said he experienced the same problem and cannot remember what he did to fix it, but the problem is back. I also am looking for Windows based software for this machine that is easy to learn and use. Is a hardware upgrade for the MP required when upgrading the software? Any help would be appreciated.
