The Measuremax software is adequate for most companies, but if you are working in the CAD world with surface files you might want to look at alternatives.

There is a product that is called Metralog that seems to be doing good things with CAD files. You will also find this product called Appogy(sp) from Starret. As I understand it they are the same product.

Other considerations are PCDMIS from Brown and Sharpe, and Virtual DMIS for American Metrology.
