My experience as a CMM programmer and dealer over the past 20 years is that some systems upgrade well, others don't. It depends on the signal outputs, the overall condition of the machine and the intended use of the machine. At times, a retrofit can end up costing much more in the end than a new or refurbished machine. These are delicate instruments. I suggest that you look very hard at all of your options before making any decision.
