A company I worked at recently has several Reflex B&S machines. On one particular part I needed to measure a radial profile. Much to my chagrin, the machine failed to give me readings for the radius, while in polar mode, instead asking me the seemingly silly question "in what direction are you probing, x,y, or z?"

Does this indicate a software problem? I've worked on several other types of CMM's, including another type of B&S, that gives you readings, with probe compensation, when you are in polar mode.
